The City of Santa Maria adopted Chapter 6-13 of the Santa Maria Municipal Code which regulates the retail sales of Tobacco products within City limits. This law requires that all persons engaging in the retail sales of tobacco products must obtain and maintain a City of Santa Maria Tobacco Retail License (TRL). The TRL must be prominently displayed in a publicly visible location at the licensed premises.

All licensing requirements must be met and will be enforced by City Rangers, including the display of proper and required signs and warnings, that no improper sales are taking place, and that tobacco licenses are properly displayed.
