What we do:

The City of Santa Maria's Public Information Office manages internal and external communications for the City Manager's Office and assists with communications efforts by other City departments.

The Public Information Office responds to inquiries and seek to provide access to City information by the public and by news media outlets. This office increases public awareness of the large number of programs and services provided by the City, explains how tax dollars are spent, and how the public can engage in its local government.

The Public Information Office is the point of contact for all news media inquiries. In an emergency, the PIO helps disseminate and coordinate vital information to ensure public safety.
