We want to make your child’s library experience is both positive and engaging. Come enjoy our welcoming spaces, collections, and services designed for babies through teens.

Library Youth Services is located on the first floor of the Santa Maria Public Library and is equipped with youth friendly computer stations, activities, and books for every age group and reading level. A special teen zone is adjacent to the Children’s Library.

ABC Mouse (Access is available only within the Library)
ABC Mouse helps kids learn to read through phonics, and teaches lessons in math, social studies, art, music, and much more. For kids ages 2 to 6. 


Story Place
Story Place is a children’s digital learning library. With stories and activities for children of all ages, Story Place brings the fun of the library online. 


PBS Kids
With PBS Kids you can read stories, listen to music, play games and color along with your favorite characters.

Reading is Fundamental
The Nation’s largest children’s literacy organization. Reading is fundamental provides information on literacy programs.

 teaching_books_Library Teaching is an online database of useful materials that complement children’s and young adult’s books. Use the site to find short movies, audio book readings, book discussion guides and more.
 Duolingo graphic Duolingo
A free resource for learning English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and many more languages. Create a profile to save your work. Select your native language and then select the language you wish to learn.
