Public Hearings about District-Based Elections Maps
Santa Marians interested in helping to draw future City Council district election maps may attend any of four City meetings in different areas of the community. The meetings will be held:
- Thursday, March 30th, 5:30 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Building, 313 W. Tunnell Street
- Thursday, April 20th, 6:00 p.m., at the Edwards Community Center, 809 Panther Drive
- Tuesday, May 2nd, 6:30 p.m., at the Minami Center, 600 W. Enos Street
- Tuesday, May 16th, 6:30 p.m., at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, 600 South McClelland Street
The City Council on February 21st started the process to go from an at-large voting system, to a district-based election process.
