Annual Battle of the Badges Softball Tournament

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department, in collaboration with PLAY, Inc., invite the community to cheer on local public safety employees at the Annual Battle of the Badges softball tournament. This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, November 8^th, at the Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Drive.

The tournament brings together teams representing local law enforcement, fire, nursing, military, and emergency first responders as they take the field for a great cause, as well as some well-earned bragging rights. Both men’s and coed teams are welcome.

Team registration is available online at www.active.com through Tuesday, November 4^th, by 4:00 p.m. The team registration fee is $250, plus $15 cash per came for umpire services. Proceeds benefit PLAY, Inc., which supports recreational and leisure programs throughout the community.

A 50/50 raffle fundraiser will also be held during the tournament. In a 50/50 raffle, participants can purchase tickets for a chance to win half of the total amount raised. The other half of the proceeds will benefit PLAY, Inc., helping to fund and expand recreational opportunities throughout the community.

Community members are encouraged to attend and enjoy a day of friendly competition, community pride, and support for a great local cause.

Torneo Anual de Softbol Batalla de Las Insignias

El Departamento de Parques y Recreación de la Ciudad de Santa María, en colaboración con PLAY, Inc., invita a la comunidad a animar a empleados de seguridad pública en el torneo anual de softbol Battle of the Badges. Este evento gratuito y familiar se llevará a cabo el sábado 8 de noviembre en el Complejo Deportivo Hagerman, 3300 Skyway Drive.

El torneo reúne a equipos que representan a las fuerzas del orden locales, bomberos, enfermería, militares y socorristas de emergencia cuando salen al campo por una gran causa, así como algunos derechos de fanfarronear bien ganados. Tanto los equipos masculinos como los mixtos son bienvenidos.
