Red, White and Zoom!
Celebrate Independence Day at the City of Santa Maria 2024 Red, White, & Zoom! The 4th of July “Tech-tacular” Drone Show & Festival will be held on Thursday, July 4th at the Elks Baseball Field behind the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center located at 600 South McClelland Street.
This free family event will take place from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be an outdoor concert beginning at 6:00 p.m. with fan-favorite 80s tribute band, The Molly Ringwald Project. Picnicking is permitted, but no barbecuing, tailgating, alcohol, or tent canopies are allowed.
Refreshments will be available for sale by local food trucks. In addition, the event will include children’s arts and craft activities, lawn games, bounce houses, and free recreational swimming from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Abel Maldonado Community Center will be hosting a free Open House from 2:00 to 8:30 p.m. for the entire family to enjoy.
The event will conclude with a custom Patriotic Drone Show provided by Droneshow.com at 9:00 p.m. Please remember, no personal fireworks will be allowed.
Major sponsorship is provided by the People for Leisure and Youth (PLAY), Inc., Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, Driscoll’s, and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Carpooling is encouraged. Limited parking will be available at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center with general parking open on McClelland Street and the Santa Maria Civic Center parking structure between City Hall and the Public Library.
