Virtual Anime Drawing Classes for Teens

Virtual anime drawing classes for teens in grades 7 through 12 are being offered on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. during October, in celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month. The program is hosted by the City of Santa Maria Mayor’s Task Force on Youth Safety, in partnership with Creative Brain Learning.

The sessions will instruct on professional drawing techniques to create anime characters and storylines. The virtual classes will be streamed in the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center’s art studio (600 South McClelland Street). Each participant will receive materials necessary for the program, such as a sketchbook and art supplies. A $10 materials fee will be due at the first class.
