Youth Arts Alive Summer Classes

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and Youth Arts Alive are offering a variety of visual and performing arts classes for youth this summer.  The classes will be held starting Monday, June 13th at the Newlove Community Building (1619 S. Thornburg Street), the Minami Community Center (600 West Enos Street), and at Grogan Park (1155 West Rancho Verde) and ending on July 29th.

A refundable $20 deposit is required for all classes. Registration information and a full list of Youth Arts Alive classes are available online at www.youthartsalive.org. On-site registrations are also available if the class is not at capacity.

Youth Arts Alive hires local professionals to teach music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. The classes include music lessons with singing, guitars, ukuleles, and drums.  Painting, drawing, pottery, and screen-printing classes are also offered. Theatre games and a variety of dances are taught in the performing arts classes. All classes are designed for children aged 8-17 years. No prior experience is necessary.
