Registration Open for Summer Recreation Classes

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is offering a variety of youth and adult recreation classes during the summer. Registration information and a full list of courses are available online at or in person at the Recreation and Parks administration office located at 615 South McClelland Street. Participants may also register over the phone by calling (805) 925-0951 extension 2260 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Children and teens have enrichment opportunities including cooking, martial arts, dance, and pottery classes. Sport clinics and lessons are offered to teach skill development in soccer, basketball, rugby, and tennis and help prepare young athletes for competitive leagues when they are older.

A new parent/infant bonding class led by Julia Diani, M.A. will begin July 6th at Maramonte Park. Parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to form a positive support network with other families with children of similar age. Adult courses are also available in pottery, martial arts, fitness, aquatics, and tennis.  No previous experience is needed to join.

The City of Santa Maria is working in collaboration with KleinDance Arts, Family Martial Arts Center, My Village LLC, Youth Evolution Sports, D.M. International Tennis Academy, and Central Coast Sharks Youth Rugby to offer these programs.

Questions may be directed to the Recreation and Parks Department, (805) 925-0951 extension 2260.
