Pitch Hit & Run Winners Announced

 

Winners of the local Pitch Hit & Run Competition sponsored by the City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department were announced this week. The competition was held on April 7th at Elks Field with a total of 30 boys and girls participating.

 

Local All-Around Champions included:

 

Girls 9/10 – Hannah Needelman

Girls 11/12 – Emma Cruddas

Girls 13/14 – Rianna Dulay

 

Boys 7/8 – Aiden Cruddas

Boys 9/10- Ashton Bleum

Boys 11/12– Michael Bloodworth

Boys 13/14 – Estevan Fonseca

 

Local winners will advance to the sectional competition taking place on Sunday, May 19th in Santa Maria. Sectional Winners will advance to the Team Competition held at Dodger Stadium in June, with those winners competing at this year’s Major League All-Star Game in Cleveland.

 

Pitch Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This program is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to participate in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
