Valentine’s Pet Wellness and Adoption Day


The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting a Valentine’s Pet Wellness and Adoption Day at the Elwin Mussell Center, located at 510 East Park Avenue in Santa Maria, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019.


The Valentine’s Pet Wellness and Adoption Day is sponsored in partnership with C.A.R.E. 4 Paws, Project Pet Safe, Santa Barbara County Animal Services, Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, and “That’s Fetch Pet Bowtique and Grooming Spaw.”


In its mobile veterinary clinic, C.A.R.E. 4 Paws will offer affordable, walk-in pet services for low-income and senior pet owners. The organization will offer an array of low-cost health and wellness services for dogs and cats, including wellness exams, vaccines, flea treatment, ear cleaning, nail trimming, wound care, spay/neuter surgeries, plus dog licenses through Project Pet Safe. Appointments may be made in advance by calling (805) 968-2273. Appointments begin at 10:00 a.m.


A slate of speakers will present information about animal services and how to adopt a pet, volunteer opportunities, disaster preparedness for pet owners, and more.
