The Santa Maria Fire Department invites you to be part of your Community’s Disaster Preparedness program. By completing the 28-hour CERT course, you will learn many skills, including disaster medical skills, light search and rescue, disaster fire suppression, and more, as described in the course schedule. The course will provide you with the basic information and skills needed to assist you and your neighbors at the onset of a large-scale natural or man-made disaster.
A wide-scale emergency event will have an immediate overwhelming effect on Santa Maria’s emergency responders. Community members who have graduated from the CERT course will be of great assistance in minimizing some of the hazards associated with such an event.
Don’t wait until it is too late! Join us now!
