Duties: Advises the City Council on planning matters and implements planning policies adopted by the City Council. The Commission is required by State Law to take steps toward the development and adoption of the General Plan and to implement that Plan toward the orderly growth of the community.
Membership: Five members nominated by individual councilmembers, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The term is four years and/or coterminous with the nominating councilmember's term. Must be a City resident.
Meeting Schedule: Meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the City Council Chambers. Study sessions are held the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:00 am in the Community Development Department.
